Canon EOS R1 Full Frame Mirrorless Body

Canon EOS R1 Full Frame Mirrorless Body

Get ahead of the game with Canon's flagship EOS – built from the ground up for speed

Shoot career-defining images and video, even when the pressure is on, capturing transient moments at up to 40fps with exceptional image quality and AF. Game-changing speed and precision is backed up by a simple, reliable workflow that lets you get your work to the client fast. Seamless hybrid functionality lets you shoot superb 6K 60p video and even capture stills and video simultaneously.

The EOS R1 lets you capture fleeting moments and freeze action at 1/64,000sec, while Action Priority focus mode recognises and anticipates moments in key sports. A back-illuminated, stacked sensor offers incredible sensitivity and virtually no rolling-shutter distortion.

Perfect for:

• Sports Photography: Recognises and anticipate key moments in sport thanks to the DIGIC Accelerator processor and Action Priority focus mode.
• Wildlife Photography: Incredible AF tracking of people, animals and objects ensures continuous sharp focus, even objects that are momentarily obscured from view.
• News Agency Work: Capture fleeting moments at up to 40fps with exceptional image quality and AF. Plus, R1's weather resistance and robust build make it reliable in various weather conditions and rough handling.
• Hybrid Shooting: Shoot superb 6K up to 60p, or use Dual Shooting to cover the same event with Full HD video and 17-megapixel (16:9) photos.

24.2 megapixel, back-illuminated, stacked sensor

The EOS R1 features a 24.2-megapixel full-frame sensor that uses a back-illuminated, stacked design to deliver superb sensitivity, brilliant resolution and incredible speed.

The speed you need to shoot the best work of your career

Capture fleeting moments with a customisable continuous shooting speed of up to 40fps. A groundbreaking stacked sensor enables a 1/64,000 sec top shutter speed and virtually zero rolling-shutter distortion. Pre-capture lets photographers capture moments before the shutter release is pressed.

Unrivalled focus performance

Deep-learning and Cross-type AF identifies and tracks subjects with phenomenal accuracy, even in low light an dlow contrast conitions. Next-generation Eye Control means AF areas can be selected just by looking at your subject, while a DIGIC Accelerator processor powers Action Priority mode, which automatically determines the main subject in football, volleyball and basketball, moving AF areas accordingly.

Shoot video and stills at the same time

Shoot superb 6K video using frame rates up to 60p and using a wide variety of formats. Dual Shooting lets you cover the same event with Full HD video and 17-megapixel (16:9) photos – capturing stills and video separately and simultaneously.

Action Priority focus mode

When shooting photos with the EOS R1’s advanced electronic shutter, the camera’s DIGIC Accelerator processor lets it identify significant actions in three sports: football, basketball and volleyball. The camera automatically switches the active AF areas to a person performing the kind of a critical action that has traditionally been hard to shoot, such as a shot from a high-speed pass.

Get home in first place with fast connectivity

Win the race – getting photos and video back to your client right when they need them. Lightning-fast connectivity is easy to use when the pressure’s on. Wi-Fi 6E with MIMO antennas, and 2.5G BASE-T ethernet, deliver super-stable performance.

Advanced 9.44m-dot electronic viewfinder

The EOS R1’s electronic viewfinder (EVF) is superior to an optical viewfinder in many ways. It’s 9.44m-dot high resolution provides an exceptionally clear and detailed view of a scene, with blackout-free continuous shooting at up to 40fps. It’s comfortable for extended periods too, with variable magnification and a locking adjustable dioptre. A larger eyecup (sold separatley) is available for complete immersion in the shooting experience.

Go large, with In-camera upscaling

Deep-learning means that images can be upscaled in-camera by up to four times, generating high-resolution versions for cropping or printing at huge sizes. The same deep-learning capability delivers incredible neural network noise reduction up to 2-stops for smooth, detailed images at high ISO sensitivities.

Next-generation Eye Control AF

Select an AF point, or a subject to track, simply by looking at it. The use of newly developed optics and a revised line-of-sight algorithm enhances the accuracy of the system, compared with the EOS R3, and broadens the angle over which the system is effective, for a more natural experience.
