Uncompromising Light Control

40-degree grids are one of the most popular choices for photographers and filmmakers because they strike a balance between control and efficiency. When paired with the appropriate Rapid Box modifier, this grid narrows the spread of light while keeping centre-axis light loss to a minimum, typically under a quarter stop even at distances three to four times the diagonal of the softbox. The increased depth of the grid enhances control, helping you achieve clean, focused lighting.

The Essential Softbox Accessory

The grid is made up of carefully arranged cells that manage off-axis light in four directions. Used with the Rapid Box Switch Octa-M or 36" Beauty Dish, it allows you to retain the soft, even quality of light while preventing spill onto backgrounds or surrounding areas. By focusing the beam, you can reduce flare and maintain contrast, especially useful in controlled portrait and studio environments.

Instant Placement and Travel Friendly Design

Designed specifically for compatible Rapid Box modifiers, the grid attaches quickly using durable hook-and-loop fastening. The recessed edge of the Rapid Box Beauty Dish allows you to use the diffusion panel and 40-degree grid together. When not in use, the grid collapses down neatly into its included case, making it easy to pack for location work or store between shoots.
