Nikon 28mm f/1.4 E ED AF-S Nikkor Lens

Events, weddings, portraits, cityscapes, or landscapes-the AF-S NIKKOR 28mm f/1.4E ED excels when you want the flexibility to work with available light.

Shape the scene with the 28 mm f/1.4 wide-angle lens that gives you exceptional aesthetic control in any light. Expect extraordinary resolving power, even when shooting wide open.

Every detail in greater detail

Subjects are sharply rendered even when shooting at the widest aperture of f/1.4. High-contrast images of distant subjects or low-light scenes can be obtained without needing to stop down the aperture. A minimum focus distance of just 0.28 m offers additional versatility.

Outstanding optical performance

Expect clear, high-resolution images even in backlit situations. Benefit from edge-to-edge sharpness with minimal distortion. Two ED glass elements and three aspherical lens elements ensure crisp, brilliant images. Distortion is exceptionally well controlled, and axial chromatic aberration and colour dispersion are effectively minimised. Nikon’s Nano Crystal Coat reduces ghosting and flare for greater image clarity, even in backlit situations, or when shooting scenes with numerous direct light sources in the frame.

Images with depth

Point light sources are reproduced as fine rounded points, even at the periphery of the image. Bokeh is exquisite. The optical construction of this lens ensures exceptional aesthetic control. Point light sources are reproduced with minimal flare, even when shooting at the widest aperture of f/1.4. The intensity of bokeh transitions smoothly as the distance from the sharply focused point increases, resulting in no rough edges or double lining.

True AF precision

Ultra-fast, ultra-quiet autofocus performance. Smooth and precise manual focusing. Nikon’s Silent Wave Motor (SWM) enables ultra-fast, ultra-quiet autofocus performance with seamless manual override. The lens boasts a dedicated focus ring for precise manual focusing.

Sturdy and durable

Robust dust- and drip-resistant build for reliable shooting in challenging weather conditions. The weather-resistant design prevents dust and water droplets from damaging the lens. Nikon’s fluorine coating actively repels water, dust, and dirt without compromising image quality. And the compact and lightweight build ensures stress-free portability.

Evelyn X. ★★★★★

Shooting a dimly lit reception last weekend and this lens just ate up the low light—the f/1.4 let me keep my ISO way down and still get sharp, clean shots. The wide 28mm focal length is perfect for squeezing in group shots without backing into a wall.

Michael R. ★★★★★

The separation I get at f/1.4 on this wide prime is incredible for wedding detail shots even in dim reception lighting.

Carter ★★★★★

I’ve been using this for cityscapes at dusk, and the f/1.4 aperture really lets me shoot handheld without raising the ISO too much. The edge-to-edge sharpness even wide open surprised me—zero complaints there.
