Ilford PQ Universal Developer 1L

Ilford PQ Universal Developer 1L is a liquid concentrate developer. Suitable to use with any black and white photographic paper. You can expect it to produce a slightly warm tone print compared to other developers.

PQ Universal is also suitable to develop technical films. This is the case for both Ilford and other brands of technical film. Dish and tray development is also possible with some general-purpose sheet films. A particularly good option when you need a fast, high contrast developer. Not recommended if a high degree of enlargement is what you are after.

Evelyn ★★★★★

The liquid concentrate mixes into working solution in seconds, no waiting for powder to fully dissolve. I’ve used it for a few printing sessions now and the slight contrast boost is exactly what my fiber paper needed.

John ★★★★★

I switched from powder developers to this liquid concentrate to save time, and so far I’m impressed with how consistent it keeps my fiber base prints toned. Made a fresh batch yesterday and the deep blacks it pulls from my paper are noticeably richer than before.

Carter ★★★★★

The concentrate mixes in under a minute, no sediment left behind, and one liter goes way further than I expected for paper development. My prints came out with that classic crisp, neutral-black look I was after, and the working solution keeps fine for a week in a stoppered bottle.
