Fotospeed RA50 Rinse Aid 500ml

Fotospeed RA50 Rinse Aid is a highly concentrated wetting agent designed for the final rinse when processing photographic film. By reducing the surface tension of water, it helps water disperse evenly from the film surface, promoting streak-free drying while reducing drying times without damaging the emulsion. Highly economical with a 1+200 dilution, this 500ml bottle makes up to 100 litres of working solution.

  • Black and white film photographers looking for clean, streak-free negatives.

Cleaner, More Even Film Drying

Water remaining on film after washing can leave drying marks and streaks on the surface. RA50 reduces surface tension, allowing water to disperse more readily from the film and helping your negatives dry more evenly and cleanly.

Highly Concentrated Formula

RA50 is diluted at 1+200, requiring just 5ml of concentrate for every litre of water. This makes the 500ml bottle particularly economical, providing up to 100 litres of working-strength rinse aid.

Simple Final-Rinse Process

Fully wash your film as normal before placing it in the diluted RA50 solution for approximately 30 seconds. Remove excess water before hanging the film to dry. The rinse aid helps promote streak-free drying while shortening the time required for the film to dry.

TFC's Verdict

RA50 is a simple but worthwhile addition to any film-processing setup. The highly concentrated formula goes a very long way, while its ability to reduce drying marks and promote more even drying can save time and frustration at the end of the developing process. A practical darkroom essential for anyone regularly processing film at home, in education, or in a professional darkroom.

Nicholas P. ★★★★★

Just a tiny drop of this in the final rinse and my negatives come out spot-free every time—no more re-washing to fix water marks. It's incredibly concentrated, so the 500ml bottle will last me ages.

Ellie ★★★★★

The surface tension drops immediately when you add this to the rinse, and I’ve noticed way fewer water spots on my negatives since switching. A 500ml bottle lasts ages since it’s so concentrated, which makes the price feel totally fair.

Harper V. ★★★★★

Used this in the final rinse for a batch of rolls and the negatives dried completely spot-free, no streaks at all. The concentrate definitely lives up to its name – a tiny amount goes a long way in the tank.
